IWL is excited to announce the 10 ALL IN Allyship Awards. We’re seeking nominations for Ally of the Year and will be honoring the top 10 ally nominees at IWL’s annual ALL IN Allyship Summit on October 4th. If you’ve benefited from the support of an ally — as a woman, or member of another underrepresented community (e.g. Black, LatinX, Asian, LGBTQIA+, introverts, military veterans, neurodivergent or physically disabled, etc.) we want to hear from you. The nominating process is easy. Create a two- to three-minute nomination video and tell us about your ally.
Helpful hints for creating a nomination video:
- Your video does not need to be professionally-produced – you can shoot it on your phone.
- Create the video IN HORIZONTAL FORMAT (turn your camera of phone sideways).
- Provide specific examples of how and when your ally showed up and advocated for you.
- Consider what it means to be an ally – allies leverage their privilege to support underrepresented individuals and communities through both reactive actions, like calling out devaluing behaviors and microaggressions (e.g., individuals being interrupted or spoken over, being asked to do the office work in meetings, having their judgment questions in their area of expertise, etc.) when witnessed, and proactive actions include actions which create equitable opportunities, such as ensuring diverse slates of candidates for positions, advocating for the promotion of underrepresented individuals, etc.
All nominations must be received by September 30 at 11:59 PM ET to be considered.
The top 10 ally nominees (selected by independent panel of judges) and their nominators will be provided complimentary admission to the IWL 2023 ALL IN Allyship Summit on October 4, 2023, and will be honored throughout the event.
