Join Kim and Jeff to discover:
- What is an ally?
- Where are you on your allyship journey?
- What privilege do you have?
- What is unconscious bias and how does it play out in the workplace?
- What are the most common types of workplace bias?
- What are microinequities and microaggressions?
TAKE ACTION! with JEFFERY TOBIAS HALTER
Allyship is a process, most notably a learning process. It involves a lot of listening… and taking action. To be an “ally” is not to call oneself an “ally” but rather to engage in an ongoing and lifelong process and commitment to action that involves a lot of work. Regardless of where each of us is on our allyship journey, there are always more actions we can take.
Building upon their morning session, “Foundations of Allyship,” Jeff will lead us through a brief action-planning process geared to help us as individuals, work groups or departments, and as organizations to identify steps we can take to practice allyship and hold ourselves and our fellow allies accountable. They’ll provide tips and tricks to make calling out devaluing behaviors easier and less personal, as well as tools and resources to make the work of allyship more consistent and accessible.
