While focused primarily on allyship with respect to gender, the information covered will also serve as “allyship basics” in support of other marginalized or underrepresented groups to be addressed in afternoon sessions. ABOUT BRIAN BOCHE
Channel SE Leader
Nutanix
Brian has been in the tech industry for the past 20 years in a multitude of roles including network engineer, sales engineer, and is currently a channel SE leader at Nutanix. His true passion lies in co-leading an allyship program at Nutanix and in building a growing community in which Nutanix is delivering monthly events, an allyship BINGO card with 25 actions men can start taking today, as well as fireside chats and panel discussions with business leaders to showcase the importance an ID&E culture, and specifically an emphasis around allyship. Brian’s passion comes from the desire to remove the misogyny that exists in our personal lives and at work all while removing the hurdles that women must overcome to achieve parity in regard to equal pay for equal work, opportunity to leadership positions, and a work environment free of microaggressions, “mansplaining” and the like. He is excited to share his personal examples of allyship as well as focus in on the how and why to become an ally.

ABOUT DAN BYRNE
Sr. Director CSP Operations
Eli Lilly and Company
Dan has been at Eli Lilly for nearly 20 years with a wide range of promotional and non-promotional roles. Like many, he started as an individual contributor for the first several years of his career before moving into leadership roles. In many of his first leadership roles, he was able to lead via technical expertise. That has changed significantly in recent years as his purvey has grown and he’s had responsibilities outside his areas of experience. That change, along with long conversations with his dynamic and successful wife, have pushed him to find other ways to lead. Starting with the creation of Lilly’s Men as Allies program in 2015 and culminating in partnership with IWL as a board member and active participant in our Male ally advisory group. Self-reflection and honesty have helped him connect with many of his male colleagues. By sharing his own challenges (both in the past and today) and being honest that allyship is a journey and not a destination, he’s been able to help grow the Male Allies network at Lilly over 500 active members. He continues to strive to be better each day. And by sharing his journey he hopes he can provide a smoother path for both allies and marginalized colleagues alike.
